Not to many boys from Crete, Illinois grow up to be considered “one of the sexiest men alive” by People Magazine, be cast as Susan Lucci’s son (Josh Maddon) on All My Children (AMC) then make it to Prime Time television with a new version of Melrose Place (Auggie Kirkpatrick) and play alongside Kate Hudson (Something Borrowed) and now Jennifer Love Hewitt (as Evan Parks in Lifetime's The Client List). Besides all this, Egglesfield has Hollywood insiders creating ‘buzz’ that he could be a lead contender to land the biggest role of his career as Christian Grey in the upcoming Shades of Grey movie.

Currently living full time in Los Angeles, Egglesfield remains humble about himself and his success. He knows being a part of Hollywood and the entertainment industry is like a roller coaster ride. Today he is at the top, but he knows it all can fall down and the ride can be over in an instant. As I spend close to an hour with Egglesfield on the phone we discuss the highs and lows of his career, his rumored relationship with co-stars Kate Hudson and Jennifer Love Hewitt and his reaction to possibly having the opportunity to audition for the Christian Grey role.

It would be easy to think of Michigan native Colin Egglesfield as just a pretty face. Or a pretty shirtless model – he is supremely handsome, with one of those faces that’s so symmetrical and aesthetically perfect as to be boring but somehow it isn’t. He has that ageless, universal Brad Pitt quality where it’s too good to be true yet there it is, gracing us with its sculptured, white-toothed smile. Yes, a handsome man is Egglesfield.

But to stop there would be to miss the real substance of this model/actor/producer/real-life human being. Egglesfield is a talented and anchored man whose experiences—plus a unique blend of serendipity and drive—have cultivated a respectable resume of film and television roles; not to mention his smiling visage on enough underwear ads that no hot-blooded woman ever forgets his name.
